Using DDS Data Formats in Octave/Matlab

Localized image-difference wave-equation tomography

The geophysical inversion technique presented in this paper allows a reduction of the large-scale optimization problem arising in both image-difference wave equation tomography and wave-equation velocity analysis into a series of smaller optimization tasks than lend themselves to efficient solving using existing techniques such as limited-memory BFGS (LBFGS) quasi-Newton method, conjugate-gradients, etc.

Pipeline Hydraulics Simulator

The referenced paper (save the thumbnailed link on the left pane as a .pdf file) presents a mathematical model of a steady-state operation of a hydrocarbon pipeline, and describes commercial computer software developed for steady-state pipeline hydraulics simulation. A project is currently under way for porting this software into a web-enabled application, enhancing both its core functionality and interfaces. Project status can be tracked on the project website referenced below.

The original version of the software can be provided under an academic or commercial license upon request.
